Full Moon in Capricorn: The Solstice is Here!

 Happy Summer Solstice!

If you live in the Southern US like I do, you might have noticed that summer has come a little early this year. It's already hot and humid and has been for a while. The Dog Days have come early this year.

Welcome to the long days and short nights of summer. This is the time of year when all of the seeds which have been germinating during the dark of winter come through and bear fruit. The time when everything that has been hidden comes to light.

As we all brace for yet another summer of record-breaking temps, we see the long results of taking nature for granted coming to fruition. We can no longer pretend that our weather patterns, anywhere, are normal. Like it or not, that reckoning is here. This has been part of the long unfolding of Uranus in Taurus as the bill for centuries of "free" exploitation of the environment comes due.

Of course, since we have all been brainwashed into the belief that we are all in competition with each other, our first instinct as rugged individualists is to look upon others with suspicion and declare war on them. We feel it is our right to exterminate the less worthy and add their things to the huge pile of resources we are hoarding.

What we are not seeing or understanding is that our conception of Self is transforming. It is becoming more expansive and inclusive. We are becoming more aware of all of the ways that we are connected to each other and how everything on this planet relies on everything else for survival. It feels like our individual selves are dying when in actuality we are growing into something that is bigger than our wildest imaginings.

Resist the urge to give into paranoia. When everything seems so scary and it feels like we are losing everything, that's actually the time when something new is being born.
